So, Battlestar Galactica's going to be wrapping up in about the next month (painfully so, from the looks of things). I'm looking to go balls-deep in another big-deal American TV show, either Lost or 24. I don't suppose I have to guess at which one you guys would recommend?
I use the iTunes to get my podcasts, and the Zune program will notice I downloaded a podcast, and then I sync it with my Zune. I have too many podcasts to try to switch over. Not too fond of the Zune program's layout though. Nothing has quite surpassed the archaic days of dragging shit into a music player. iTunes had a simulacrum (needed to be in the iTunes library), whereas I'm not sure about Zune.

Perhaps I should have just said, "soon." Either way, it's ending.
@xenomouse: Done did it already. RIP, Stringer Bell.
I guess the winner's going to be 24, I already watched season 1 a while back and really liked it. That was still during my marathon of The Wire though, so I never continued.
[quote="Arrogance"]RIP, Stringer Bell. Spoilers! I'm not quite to the end of season 3 yet. (But yeah, I already knew about String.)
Btw, one show that didn't catch a lot of viewers but was still decent is The 4400. It's got 4 seasons, all available on DVD.
24 was a bit much for me to swallow. There was so often the "one step forward, two steps back" formula for each episode that when Jack pulled it out in the end of the season, it just didn't seem believable in any stretch of the imagination.
Lost is good (especially the first season or two). It struggles a bit in season 3 and picks up gradually in season 4 into the current season. The main problem that a lot of people have with the show is that it can get frustratingly mysterious. There are long swaths of episodes that only bring up questions and do not offer answers. With that said, it's the only show that I actually schedule time to watch as it airs.
Shows that have been off the air for a while that I've enjoyed: Firefly, Space: Above and Beyond, American Gothic, and Earth 2.
The current season of Lost is highlighting more and more maybe the most critical flaw the show has: NOBODY TELLS EACH OTHER ANYTHING.
It's bad enough when Kate's not telling anyone "Uh, I found an underground bunker with medical supplies and hobo costumes that suggests the people chasing us aren't a group of itinerant sea captains", but last night's episode where Jack spends a whole day with Kate, meeting up with her mere minutes after Sayid is attacked (for the second time!) by a guy with a horse tranquilizer gun, who just so happens to have Kate's address in his wallet, and he like, y'know, DOESN'T SEE FIT TO MENTION THAT. Well, that's a little much to swallow.
I wish they'd just make a spin-off with the snarky Asian guy and leave it at that.
Oh, and Marwan is season 4 of 24. I think that's also where the chick gets cold-cocked by Curtis. So yeah, that's pretty much the best season. But then, all seasons of 24 are equally awesome and terrible.
[quote="Dave"]The current season of Lost is highlighting more and more maybe the most critical flaw the show has: NOBODY TELLS EACH OTHER ANYTHING. True dat. I like to call that "Harry Potter Syndrome" - the inability to share important information with people who a) the information directly affects or b) can actually help you effectively deal with said information.
Even though things have gotten impossibly impossible in 24 it's still entertaining. And we still haven't seen the Candyman do much yet. Why does he even need child soldiers? He has an army of bees at his disposal.
Yeah, I'm pretty loyal once a show garners some respect from me. I thought Lost had a lot of potential, and for a long time I refused to admit that it was mostly being squandered on lame attempts at character depth and ineptly handled filler arcs. I still think the people who say only the first season is good are being lame ass days-of-yore cry babies, but my patience has worn pretty thin and now I find myself laughing at how ridiculous its being more often than taking it seriously. I'm still going to watch it, but I think they've finally broken my almost limitless good-will bank. But Desmond is still cool.
I wish you wouldn't talk about tales of Vespiria I really want to play it but it appears it's not been (and Probably never will be) Release here. Also I've yet to see any 24, but i'm going to buy the first season tomorrow.
Yeah, you totally have to beat the game to access a lot of sidequests...
Lost this week was bullshit. It's infuriating, yeah, that nobody speaks to each other. WHY ARE YOU HERE JACK WHY WHY WHY WHAT DO YOU WANT YOU SHOULD GO...
OH IT'S FINE KATE TRUST ME ARE YOU OK JUST TELL ME I DON'T WANNA TELL YOU WHY JUST LET ME KNOW EVERYTHING IS COOL IS SHIT COOL?
Also, time travel is retarded. It's a way for the writers to make a bunch of cool shit happen while they figure out a real story for this.
[quote="Dave"]Uh, really? Because there's only like seven episodes left. So estimating conservatively at an episode a month still puts the show ending in 2009. We've been in "the last season of Battlestar Galactica" for nearly two full years now.

What season were they dealing with Marwan in?
I think we would have interpreted this correctly if you'd written TELL ME WHERE MARWAN IS

I just finished the Wire 2 nights ago. Season 5 was kinda off and depressing, but it ended well and was kinda uplifting.

[quote="Floppington"]No love for Life on Mars huh? I'm only on episode 2, but I love me some Harvy Keitel. I've only seen a couple interspersed episodes, but I liked what I saw. My roommate keeps shouting "DROP YOUR WEAPONS, YOU'RE SURROUNDED BY ARMED BASTARDS."

In the original: It turns out he was in a coma all along....
...or was he?
Also the guy who played Gene Hunt in the original was just in ITV's quite dire Demons with a TERRIBLE american accent.
