Another wacky episode. We can all thank Go Nagai for being totally insane. Or a genius. I like to think Go Nagai walks the thin Genius/Insanity line every day of his life. You can tell which side he falls in depending on the show.

Maoh Dante is more interesting in idea that execution. That idea being what if God wasn't necessarily good and demons not necessarily evil.

Its not the only time that happens in Go Nagai stuff. Devilman Lady closes with her fighting a hermaphroditic angel monster who happens to rape her ahead of time to become giant.

Maoh Dante is one of the few anime I found far more tolerable by watching the dub. Not that the dub is great or anything. The show is just that terrible.
I have every U.S. released Go Nagai anime DVD and dammit I'm watching them all!
Thought I had read the manga first and while the manga is by no means a master piece, it is also not half as dumb as the anime. Also most of the anime just makes up new shit. -
The Devilman manga is cool. The Mao Dante manga is like a crappy first draft for Devilman.
