The emulator I use is called "Andie Graph", and it's free on the market. It's almost literally like having a giant version of the calculator itself. I'm fairly certain it also supports TI-89 emulation. You would have to grab the ROM from your calc and load it for the app though. The ROMs came with the app previously, but TI didn't like that and asked for ROMs to not be provided.

I have a emulator called graph-89, but it will crash every time you exit then reenter the program, so you have to reload the rom whenever you want to use it. This normally wouldn't be a problem, but I also have both of my math books on my touchpad as PDF files (20 pounds of book? no thank you), so I was having to flip between programs all the time.

That's EXACTLY why I got a tablet. I've had the emu on my phone for a while, and realized way too long after getting the tablet that I could load it on there too. And it's handy on both. I'm definitely keeping the real one around though. I've had that thing for over 10 years now, and it still works great. But fuck them physical books.

How they look for these planets is kinda cool. I'm fairly certain that they can also use gravitational lensing to find them.

yes...ish. It is a process called microlensing. basically the lensing caused by a star can be amplified by that cause by a planet. Evalyn Gates has a good book that talks about it some called 'Einstein's Telescope'.

As someone that doesn't have terribly coherent thoughts, talking to myself helps me single out a line of thought.

I talk to my self all the time when I'm working on something. Even in my classes when we are solving something as a class I'll just start verbally working shit out. This is good in classes where the teacher likes the students to be interactive, but most don't want to talk. The downside of this is I sometimes start rambling on.

I do the exact same thing in design meetings at work. Both the verbally working stuff out and the rambling on.

I think the prevalence in the U.S. of toxoplasmosis infection is about 25%. Fortunately, it's dormant in most people save for people with compromised immune systems.
