NEW SHIT ON DIS WEBSITE

So. Phpbb, our previous forum, was falling apart. I haven't been happy with it for awhile, and it was giving a lot of people scripting errors when trying to perform simple operations. So it's time for a change. The last installation lasted like five years without me completely obliterating the database. That's amazing! This is now the six forum installation for this website over ten years and it's went off (relatively) without a hitch. All users should be imported, all data should be retained. You may need to reset your avatar, and you'll need to make a new signature, etc, but it should be stable.
Please post in this thread if you find things you're unable to do. I'm not down with a lot of the terminology in vanilla yet. If you find yourself unable to login/post, email me with your username and what you're trying to do so I can troubleshoot it.
I'm looking for a better theme (one with more contrast for unread posts).

edit: But, on a serious note, we apparently don't do phpBB code anymore. This basically breaks every existing post where someone quoted a post or used formatting. (BrokenMagnum already pointed this out.)
Also, I can't go to a thread page without first clicking on the thread, which is annoying but I'll learn to deal. -

as of 1:05 am Tuesday 3/15, posts seem to be timestamped off by one day in that posts I know were made Monday 3/14 are marked 3/13.
requests: having a day and time timestamp like phpbb would be nice. also dark background with white text option would be nice. -

For going to the proper page in a thread, it'll automatically take you to the most recent post you haven't read. Things are a little messed up right now because everything is considered unread.

I'm with RB. That highlighted new post tag under the discussions screams to be clicked. Why you no click? WHY!?

This is sort of... yeah. Not diggin' it yet, but good job migrating everything. Enjoy tweaking a blue million settings! I know that's always the fun part, and by fun, I mean I hope you have a lot of whiskey.
Addendum: Also, it appears there is a limited window for editing old posts. Recommending an unlimited editing period on all posts. -
Wasn't there a limited window on phpbb too? I just assumed there was, but since I was admin I was never restricted by it.
I'll enable unlimited editing, but NOBODY BETTER ABUSE IT. -
This new format is more awesome than the one before, I can actually access it at work now :P

I fear what I do not understand, and tried to refresh this page three times before I grasped that the formatting had changed. I thought my computer at work was fucking with me again and was displaying the page all crazy. It also took me five minutes to log in because I wasn't sure if I should enter my username where it says 'email' at the login screen. This is, of course, entirely user based error by someone who taint too bright, and no reflection on the site itself.
But I hate the way it looks. :) -

Now have a quick bar for html. Seems it was one of the default plugins and I just couldn't understand the name.OOPS.

The main thing I'd like is for individual posts to be delineated more clearly. Making the post header with avatar, username, time ect have a different background color than the post itself would be a good start, right now everything just runs together. Even the sig divider has a stronger break than between posts.
Also the avatar resizing is pretty jaggy but I don't know if you can do anything about that.
Edit: or alternating the background of each post?

I think the resizing prefers square images, so that might be your problem.I agree with the jist of your post suggestion. I'd like to find a theme like that.
