Apparently Go Nagai made a puppet show that tanked in Japan but was a hit here in the UK, here's the opening and ending songs, good luck finding episodes.

Yeah, this is a real thing and Brian May of Queen did a cover of the UK theme song. Pretty amazing. Anyway, it was released on VHS as Star Fleet in the US and I have copies of everything that was released here in English at any rate. I always wanted to podcast on it but I could never get anyone else to sit through it with me.

I guess if I thought Team America was a great movie, then I should have no problem watching this. I had no clue Go Nagai did a show like this.

I remember seeing the opening for this show when I was looking for a new thing to add to SRA. It caught me by surprise, that's for sure.
Oh, and if you're going to have a song from it, you need the Brian May's giant ethereal space head version.

From what I remember reading in SFX, the US VHS releases were just a bunch of episodes edited together to make roughly 8 TV movies. However it shouldn't be a problem reviewing them together.

Fun fact the UK boxset had some real money invested into it. One of the special features is an interview with Go Nagai apparently.

I'm just waiting on the boxset to arrive in the post. Play said it would take 5 days delivery max. Hopefully it's a nice long interview and not just a bunch of clips.
