I feel like every time it's Olympic season I read 50 articles on how the Olympic Village is secretly one giant orgy. Although this year was the first time I heard about people knowing the specific number of condoms they were delivering. I like to think through air drop.
Good for her not taking their paper mache like medal over a real medal. You would figure she could get a rematch or something.
That reminds me, there are still the silver medals that were "supposed" to be given to the american basketball team back in '72 because of something like this, but they turned it down because they were not going to be cheated for a gold medal against the russains. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1972_Summer_Olympics#Highlights
Wow people are dumb and stupid and ignorant. Its just a soccer game. The very concept that beating Japan in soccer is some sort of payback for the attack on Pearl Harbor is utterly ridiculous. First off, that happened over 70 years ago. Second, I think we kinda already got them back for that by dropping bombs on 2 of their cities. Its the same problem I have with people talking about Penn St. playing football this year after the whole Penn State debacle. In which they claim that them playing football is going to somehow unite them and make them "rise above" those terrible events. Why so dumb America?
It happened during the during the soccer matches, it happened during the tsunami, and it will probably continue to happen for years to come. We just have to accept that this is a thing that will be brought up anytime some idiot with social media hears the word Japan in the news.
Well, he's not saying it's "acceptable" just that we have to accept that people are going to be shitty.
Which is true, but accepting that doesn't mean shutting up about it either.
Personally, I just can't understand the mindset of people like this. Of course, I couldn't understand why people would say or think the things they did when the Sandusky scandal broke, too. Some people are just awful, I guess, and have really fucked up priorities.
