I was downloading podcast episodes and noticed that episode 22 and 23 are missing. Can you guys fix that by putting them up or are they missing forever?
I'm not sure why they're not on the website, but they exist in the RSS feed, so you can get them from there until I fix it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Oh yeah, I was digging back through the archives a few months back and noticed this but apparently didn't say anything. # 22 and # 23 are actually misplaced under March 2010. Some other things I saw: There apparently was never a show # 247 or # 433, but there are two different # 439s listed. # 132: "Fast Karate for the GeekNights 070725 - MD Geist 2: The Death Force" is referenced but was never actually uploaded to the site like the GME and ATW9K episodes. # 361 and # 362 don't have "Show #..." in their titles. # 221 and # 270 are duplicated.
The only thing I knew about is the missing show numbers, which I just flubbed and never bothered to correct. Now I prefer to think of them as esoteric trivia information.
Dave, I think your you have found someone who is your number one fan!!!
Replace "number one" with "creepy" and this is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen. Seriously though, I've always been amused by the "This Show Is About" pictures, so I was browsing through the episodes and I noticed that there wasn't a # 247. I was bored, so I spent the next 20 minutes looking for other discrepancies.
In addition to the list above, today's Boss Doors video is titled "Boos Doors" on the main site.
I was concentrating so hard on not misspelling 'armageddon' that I missed what was staring me right in the face.
Also, that paranoid parrot about misspelling was not one that applied to me, BUT IT DO NOW.
Also also, thanks for the help. I fixed episodes 22 and 23 and put the Geeknights one on the website.
Fixing 361 and 362 made me notice that, of course, most of the old shows don't have show tags (like "anime show" "gaming show" on them). That is a probably completely irrelevant thing that will surely set off my compulsive desire for labeling that only affects computer databases.
While we are providing Feedback, the iTunes podcast thing hasn't listed a new episode since 'good lord this baby is huge'.
Not so critical because I just browse from my phone and listen directly through the browser; but am wondering if it's just me or is it iTunes? Both faulty devices
This is something people complain about off and on with iTunes. Have you tried hitting "show all available episodes"? I know it can get caught up sometimes. When I look up the podcast in the store I see the most recent episodes.
You should also be able to download episodes directly from the iTunes store, even if you subscribe to the feed. I've had to do that with some podcasts I accidentally deleted, in lieu of the show all episodes option. You know, 'cause I don't want to see two years worth of episodes I've already listened to and re-delete the listings.
One thing I've found is that if you delete an episode from your iTunes library, it won't show up in the episodes list unless you unsubscribe and resubscribe. (This doesn't delete any episode you already have in your library, by the way.)
I figured it out. I had subscribed to your podcast on my work computer. I believe the security program on our server which blocks undesirable and/or unproductive websites (such as social networking, web mail, blogs, porn & religion) blocked the site your feed comes from.
