Running out of 80s/90s OVAs
  • There's been a sever lack of OVA discussion as of late. I remember a while ago on the show Dave and Joel were joking about running out of shitty 80s and 90s OVAs to make fun of, but have they actually done all of the terrible anime of old?
  • No way. There's loads more. Del Power X, Campus Special Investigator Hikaruon, Cosmo Police Justy, Relic Armor Legaciam, Genesis Survivor Gaiarth... there's hundreds of mediocre '80s OVAs.
  • I wouldn't go as far to say that Gaiarth is crappy, based on the first one I saw, I thought it was ok.

There is still California Crisis, Junk Boy, Salamander, Exper Zenon (that one is actually pretty good), Sol Bianca (that is my personal favorite OVA of all time, but the old one, they can bash the newer one they did in the late 90's), Powerdolls, Here is Greenwood, mmm... that seems like a good chunk to go on.
  • My knowledge here is sadly lacking, but I'll throw the one I posted a clip from in the random thread, The Ultimate Teacher.
  • I'd also like to see Dave 'n Joel's take on Justy or that other 80's sci-fi espers classic, Chojin Locke (movie or OAV)
  • I want to watch Campus Special Investigator Hikaruon because it has a great name.
  • Shinesman? Fairy Princess Ran? Exploding Campus Guardress? Prefectural Earth Defense Force? OZ? Grey: Digital Target?
  • Hikaruon is basically the OVA version of VR Troopers. Since it's an OVA, there's more boobs 'n blood.
  • Nah dude, they need to cover Starship Troopers...the OVA.
  • We podcasted on it! You like pink blob monsters instead of arachnids?
  • Yea I heard that like 2 years ago, you were more positive about it than Gerald and Dayrl from... well, you know where. The monsters in that was something you would find from Legend of the Overfiend, Battle Royal High School or Wicked City.
  • Legend of the Snugglefiend.
  • I guess there are a lot more shitty OVAs than I thought. Come to think of it, there still hasn't been a Shuten Doji podcast yet.
