The really weird, stupid, and freaky furries are reprehensible human beings (the furries that you see in the news) but it is not because they are furries, it is because they are mental and they happen to be furries. The furries that are socially-maladjusted miscreants who deserve to be shunned and reviled for all eternity are the insane ones that like to bite or let others bite their reproductive orgasm (like 4% or 7%), again it is not because they are furries, it is because they are mental and they happen to be furries. That leaves the other 2 groups of furries: The “I am a furry because its fun and/or because I might get laid” group, and the “I’m an anthropomorphic animal trapped in a human body” group. The “I am a furry because its fun and/or because I might get laid” group are normal sane people that just like to dress up like animal people. The “I’m an anthropomorphic animal trapped in a human body” group are insane people that think they are really anthropomorphic animal trapped in a human body, sort of like the people who get sex change operations because they didn’t feel like they were support to be a girl or boy.

. . . those weren’t furs. . . sounds more like a cosplay meet up or a video game/anime convention really. You should probably keep little kids away from furries though. If you don’t like furries then the best way to deal with them is to not think/talk about it, whether it was just seeing one, finding out your friend is one, or if furries are starting to try to take over the world.

And, to answer the above question about the skunk chick, I lost my furry innocence googling pics of Babs and Lola Bunny, because they were some of my favorite cartoon characters as a kid...what I ended up coming across was furred breast skunk loving pornography...And I've seen tiger guy. I don't want to make fun of him. I want to buy him a cup of coffee and tell him it's gonna be alright.

Truth be told, there are days when I wish I was an anthropomorphic tiger person, because then I could look awesome and gore my enemies...but you don't see me prancing around in a tiger suit! Fuckin' furries...

Isn't it fair to say that all furries are insane, it's only a matter of degree? Even the ones who "do it for fun" are still into dressing up like animals in public. That strikes me as a fine definition for crazy.
