I didn't want to start a new thread, but i couldn't find a previous one to put this in. Where do you guys buy anime? I don't seem to have any good places around here and was wondering if i am missing any. The best buy has a horrible selection, and i would rather not buy online. Are there any good retail stores that sell them?
Considering online discounts are up to 30%, you are throwing your money away if you don't get things online. Even best buy prices require sales to match online
I buy 95% of my anime at RightStuf. Just wait for the studio sale that includes what you want and you end up saving anywhere from 30% - 45% on what you want. Plus they've got great customer service.
Otherwise, there's DeepDiscount which I use for my non-anime stuff. Their big sale is coming up in about a week (25% off their price).
Some folks already suggested this, but it bears repeating: Right Stuf. They've got sales all the time, so if you're paying close attention, you can get a really good deal on something you really want. Other than that, Amazon is passable, and I hear good things about Deep Discount.
Only sucky thing about Deepdiscount is trying to cancel an order. I accidently sent an order to an old address I didn't live at anymore, called them up within an hour of placing the order and they couldn't cancel it because it was already "in processing".
Rentals are nice cheap alternative as well. Netflix is an obvious choice. There is much smaller online rental service called GreenCine. The deal is they tend to carry cult classics, foreign and independent films. GreenCine also has a very large collection of anime to rent from.
I had a dream place called "A Shop" it had a door and walls and there are people who came up to me and asked me:"Do you need any help?" and i'd reply:"no I'm just looking". It was a crazt fucking dream, even crazier than my dream where Jack Bauer Joined Torchwood, maybe I'll talk about that dream some time.
