I know we have been really delayed recently, however this is mostly in part to another SEKRET PROJECT by Dave Riley. For the last 2 weeks we have been in production of a movie poster promoting the second book. We have gone through some gruling trial and error, and had to scrap and redesign a few times. Last night was the dead line, and by god we completed it. It took 14 hours and alot of idle banter to fill in the empty 25 mins it took to save the 14000 x 10000, 600 dpi, 24in x 36in file, and a weary ride home at 4:30 in the morning on a work night, but its done none the less. If you are interested in such a thing see Dave Riley for details.
If you need to work until 5 AM, the best way to do so is to fill the night with your reliced copy of the soundtrack to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
I feel like I'm gonna die, but I think it was well worth it.
Indeed. The sounds of CSOTN def helped the night soar by.
Also something about listening to True Faith with windows rolled down, a cool breeze, and racing the rising sun makes the 430am drive on 95 much more pleasent.
Wow looks awesome! And is this spoilerous? If so, I can't wait to see someone getting hurt and then being rescued with huge explosions and Jaguar armor. And that robot looks pretty damn cool... yo.
So you are going to sell these at Otakon, but you think there probably will be some left. Do you think you will sell them on-line, in other words make it available for me to buy? Though I have no pay-pall account... or a credit card BUT I know a possible way around!
Hmm . Hopefully largo has a pay-pal account or credit-card so I can transfer the money his way, the normal intertronbanking way, so he could order it for me. Or, if I can send it directly to the USA, which I doubt. BUT it's the Internet, anything can happen in the next half hour!
Funny you should mention that. Dave had me base the "warbot" after the ABC Robot from JD. I on the other hand wanted to model it after Devil Gundam. I think it worked out in the end though. Also, page 77 is done (finally).
Also i have been working on these for Otakon. Let me know what you think?
I think they look awesome, a few things though. I think the lower part of the eight-five looks less detailed than the rest. And Athens could use a little shine on her lips. I tried to make a quick example, but since I formatted my PC today I only have MS-Paint at the moment.
oh i plan on it. I am going to use the athens for the Business cards, and i originally designed it for an online banner, which was super small. And also an odd size. Originally I only had a short time to do it, so i didnt bother for that. But I will for the cards
Anyways, are you guys going to make more posters anytime soon? I would like to have a bit more of a choise before I go SPENDIN ALL UR MONEEZ ON SUMTHIN and that with a great deal of; I don't live in American neneneh I don't have paypal neneneh. WHICH requires me to arrange all kind of crap...
There are no more posters coming anytime soon. Just to make the sheer volume of posters to make us break even for selling them at a reasonable price practically crippled our bank accounts.
Skabs exagerates, as he is wont to do, but his statement is true. I wouldn't expect another poster for at least a year (and even then, only if these somehow started to sell PHENOMENALLY). We're both still more than a few hundred dollars in debt for the things. So we'd like to see some sort of reasonable profit before we do it again.
So if everyone on this forum buys... 10-15 posters then I PROMISE you we'll have another design out immediately.
Last question for you Ken and blank (and you guys can feel free to PM me with this): would you prefer your poster autographed or not? Keep in mind that this is more a matter of timeliness and pride than it is of monentary value. I promise you if signed Front Beat posters are suddenly worth like $5000 we'll send you five.
Really it's a matter of whether or not you want to wait a couple days more to get Skabs and I to scrawl our names in silver paint on the thing. If you do, we'll do it as soon as possible, if you don't then I'll ship 'em out as soon as you tell me.
Yeah, we lost a couple due to misdeeds, but frankly... if we somehow manage to sell 1,000 posters (current count: 16, including twelve from my parents) I'm not gonna quibble over 3.
I want to thank all the people who came to our apartment on Saturday expecting a barbeque and, instead, got to participate in a slave labor poster assembly line.
Poster arrived, all in one piece and so swish I can barely look at it. Seriously, it looks even better than it does on the website, especially now that I can easily see the finer details in the darker areas.
Thanks Team Front Beat (incl. the slave labor poster assembly line)!
