I never understand why on Twitter people do that @ thing and reply to people, as if anyone would put out the effort to actually dig up the rest of the conversation and read it.
Honestly, I don't understand the point of twitter at all, but that specific thing really irks me.
Unless someone is inviting me to something or telling me something that requires immediate action, I can wait until we meet again or until I get the gumption to read their blog.
[quote="The Joel"]That was a really funny Penny-arcade.
Twitter just looks like way too much effort.
I thought so, but I have an icon on my Firefox that just opens a tab and go.
As for the @ thing, it's super annoying to see Dave @'ing Joel since I follow them both, but don't actually have any participation in the conversation.
Twitter has worked super well for me just to connect with people. I got a job at GamePro because of it, and I might have something being set up at GamesRadar.

Yeah, but when we have a conversation you don't have to click through five different twitter links to find out what we were talking about.
I swear that Twitter is like Facebook status updates, just without the rest of facebook. Considering I don't use the rest of facebook anyway, seems this could be good. With people to follow maybe I'll actually use it. And as far as @'ing, whatever happened to the days of just making public statements which are less than thinly veiled insults at people? Like, "Anyone on the Front Beat forums who uses a picture of someone shooting themselves in the head as an avatar is a double douche."
Thing that pisses me off the most is that people use twitter to tell others they are pooping like in that penny arcade comic and in my case people are saying shit that I couldn't give a shit about, being sick, random shit about animals or when they are going to the gym.
I might use this quite a bit because I feel weird updating my facebook status constantly.Heh, I allready set it to update my fb when I update my twitter. That's kinda neat, actually...
I've changed my twitter name. I now go by peterhurstakjr because I think it makes me look like more of a grown-up, which is something I would like to be. So yes, you should be following peterhurstakjr. That is all.
