Anita is my friend IRL. I've been helping her with research for this project. I have to say I'm not terribly surprised by the horrible, misogynistic comments, because this is totally not the first time she's gotten them.
What did surprise me was all the weird "Jew" comments. Hint: she's not Jewish. Of course, kids in middle school in Michigan said the same kind of shit to me and used it as an excuse to physically attack me, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. -
Is "trigger warning" really a commonly employed phrase? I've seen it twice in two days now, but never before.
I will say, however, that I'd like to get 30k+ dollars to buy and play vidjergames. I'm thinking of kickstarting a gender-skewed literary analysis of the entire body of work on Literotica. I don't know if the male submitters there have ever spoken to a woman besides their moms (for whom they shamefully lust). I will make millions.
It's a shame, regardless of anything else, that people can't criticize something without "hey fagit" or "goddamn kike" or whatever. People are free to like or dislike things, but it saddens me when their most clearly articulable reason is blind categorical hatred of the author's "type." -
I imagine it's hard to let some of those posts hurt your feelings. "Shave your hair and don't wear earrings" is so far into insane, it's probably easier just to laugh it off.
Then again, those sorts of comments are just indicative of the less forceful, less obvious shit that goes down, so maybe not.
Then AGAIN, if I had 30k to my name from Kickstarter, I would laugh at those Youtube commenters all the way to the bank. -

There's also been a coordinated 4chan asshole effort to shut down her kickstarter, so some of those are16 year old 4chan idiots trying to be funny. -
Dave where is your kick starter for Jumping Through Boss Doors special edition DVD's. You could use all the money to get a really sweet recording/streaming setup plus for manufacturing the DVD's. I have no idea how much that all would cost but I bet you could get people on kickstarter to pay for it.

Also Youtube comments are basically the bottom end of communication on the internet, but it still sucks. Your friend could have posted a video of 30 seconds of silence with her face on camera and got a similiar amount of sexist comments, they just wouldn't have had her video series to latch onto as a target.

My video that has the most comments/views by a long shot, the one where I kick a zombie porno actress to death and feel bad about it, has the highest percentage of "missing the point" I have ever seen on the internet. The comments are split 50-50 between "yeah, you showed that bitch!" and "HEY GUYS HER NAME IS NENJA SAMEJON WHICH IS LIKE JENNA JAMESON.
Yeah, I didn't see any of those, but that's just to be expected regarding anything with a girl in it. Believe me, it's my dream to kickstart anything and quit my boring job that I dislike. :D Buttttttt... the like 200+ t-shirts I still own suggests that the fanbase won't put up. I took a glance at that girl's videos and she gets like 70k views per, that's $30,000 worth of views. A recording/streaming setup isn't anything special these days. A laptop and a mixer is all you'd need. The bigger issue is your upload speed. Kickstarter to get business class lines to your home.
Of course there is pro equipment, but unless you're doing bumpers and transitions, live, you can get by without it.

I know your right, but why you got to blot all the hope in the world out, I'm good for at least the same amount I gave to Endless Fluff. Start small I guess? Maybe if you had a small successful one you could do a bigger production the next time. Even if it fails at least we will get to see a video of you and graz introducing yourself to strangers through a camera which should be entertaining.
Also I don't know about your living situation but 30k wouldn't let me quit my job, it would just erase all my remaining college debt and buy a decent used car, hows that for a downer. -

I am 31 so I have had more time to pay it off but my loans were obviously nowhere near as large as yours. That shit is gross.

If you see Anita, tell her I really dig what she does on Feminist Frequency. I think it's an awesome site, and it's one of the things that sparked my current interest in feminism. -
My parents paying for most of my college doesn't make me feel any better.

I did, indeed, squat for 8 months, 6 weeks of which were without running water. When they repossessed the next-door abandoned apt we were using to store our rainwater, we decided it was time to get out. I want a stable job already.

Well she did go to youtube as her source of comments, which is something I expected those youtube comments to be.
I guess in the defense of hot video game girls being made, it is done by guys, which is really the source of the problem. I can only assume that if you gather every character/3d modeler in the game industry, over half have never been with a woman before and have the belief that all women on this earth should be as hot as Playboy/Hustler models they grew up lusting over. And it doesn't help that some women (well, I wanna say half) out there believe they need to be "just an object" to attract the opposite sex without ever having a need to develop a personality/common sense/ "a brain".
What Anita is doing is something I do get behind, even though I would be lying if I said I didn't like buxom women as much as the next guy. I do enjoy 80's anime women who not only had looks, but the brains and personality to back that up, which that same logic can be used for game girls. So yea, go Anita, I should probably shut up now.
