This is a property I actually don't really mind them revisiting, because you could potentially tell an endless number of entertaining stories with the characters, provided you find actors with the right chemistry. I'd tend towards Emily Blunt or Amy Adams, because the former is one of the best straight-up actresses of that bunch and the latter because she'd be basically perfect for Nora Charles, provided she has the comic timing. Rachel Weisz is pretty cool too, but I'm not sure if she'd be right for it; can't recall her being in many comedic roles that I know of.

That's really not a straight-up comparison. MGS has shooting mechanics, and there are plenty of ways to play, but it's a stealth game, and you really get the most bang for your buck by actually playing through for stealth since the maps were designed for it. Saying the cover shooting mechanics in MGS are clunkier than cover shooters is true; they're bolted on to a stealth game. Likewise, Hitman's stealth missons and mechanics are clunky because they're attached to a puzzle action shooter. Hitman's a great series and I love it (mostly), but it attempts to do very different things than MGS. Having more fun with Hitman could just mean you're more in the market for one genre than another, not that every game has attempted the same goal and failed. I prefer Klonoa 2 to New Super Mario Bros. but those games have very different paradigms, despite superficial platformer similarities.

So what you're saying is Hitman does more stuff better so it's not fair that it's better than Metal Gear Solid? :)

I do enjoy the Cars alot, which I thought they were in the Hall already. And ELO, the only song I like is (the only one that got them famous in the anime community back in the 80's) "Twilight," the song that Gainax likes so much to make an animation about it.

I think part of it is the fact that one of MGS's features is that you CAN do a lot of things, but the game is most rewarding if you actually play it trying to avoid alerts, no radar, no kills, and even avoiding the tranq pistol (pistol sniping every enemy then tiptoeing around a slumber party is not REALLY stealth, is it?). I'm not going to say my way is the only way if you have fun pulling out the machine gun and going to town. But it's like pulling out the dual ballers and an SMG and walking through the front door of a level in Hitman and complain that the shooting mechanics are clunky. The game lets you do it, but wasn't made for it, and you're not going to experience the gameplay facets that the franchise is known for innovating. You can abuse basically any game like this.

We're in an era of gaming where people try to make assumptions about genre and design paradigm based on the player interface, which couldn't be more wrong. Hitman is not MGS is not Gears of War is not Bayonetta. I feel like the FPS has had time to somewhat move past this: Thief is not Unreal Tournament is not Deus Ex. Penny Arcade mentioned this in reference to The Club being a "perfect run" score shoot-em-up that they liked, but everyone playing it saw third person and compared it immediately to Gears. It's like someone looking at Stuntman and saying, "Driving not as realistic as a racing sim, it's a bad version of Gran Turismo."
