The "I feel awesome today" thread.
• Do you still need to get the other maker fixed then?
• Just applied for a voice over job in a radio commerical.
• Good luck. I hope you get it.

Yes, this is a temporary solution. Coffee is a serious business.
• Down close to ten pounds in three weeks. I'm on the "Stop Eating So Damn Much and Get Off of Your Lazy Ass and Work Out" diet. IT REALLY WORKS!
• But wait, I thought there was scientific evidence that eating less and exercising
wouldnt't ever make you lose any weight.

That's why I gave up on it.
• Woke up to new art from the artist on the Western comic I'm working on. So. Much. AWESOME!
• So this is a psuedo cross post with the "why am I miserable" but my wife got accepted to go to New York Comic Con as a pro! THAT'S AWESOME! On the other hand, I will not be going as this will be a working trip. Bollocks.
• Finally got my raise so a round of drinks on me.
• The Boris Karloff Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein will be shown in theaters October 24! I will probably be there.

• Learned today that a kid I work with is also a local DJ. His name is Tanner. His DJ name is DJ-tan. He has no idea why I think it is hilarious.
• I really like the first Frankenstein movie. I found Bride to be a huge disappoint, though. All the crap I hate about sequels is here, including bringing dead characters back to life for bullshit reasons and replicating the plot of the original story. And then the titular Bride is only in the movie for like 2 minutes and she dies. Whatever.

Still, the first movie is great. Love the cinematography by a dude was doing German Expression like five minutes before he worked on Frankenstein. Beautiful movie. I'd love to see it on film.
• I have an interview scheduled for Tuesday. Hopefully I'll get a job so I can start buying more video games again.
• Good luck, bud!
• "Frankenstein movie...bringing dead characters back to life..."

I think maybe you do not understand the primary focus of a Frankenstein movie.

• They didn't bring them back to life through science. It was like, "Oh yeah, he escaped after all. Whatever. I'm gonna pretend you didn't see the end of the first movie."
• Fuck. You win Dave. I have no idea how the hell I did missed that.
• Saw Cake tonight and am on cloud nine. Went to Williamsburg (which still makes my skin crawl) at 6:30, they started at 7 and played 2, hour long sets with a 20 minute intermission.

I had Jenn with me, we bought pulled pork sandwiches and she bought me beer and a chocolate ice cream and cocoa puff push pop. It didn't even threaten rain. This night can't get any better.

I have always wanted to see Cake and am jealous.

In other news, I am incredibly happy. I surprised my wife with a Lady Gaga cd, the Timecop/Bloodsport Blu Ray double pack, and the new Total Recall Blu Ray. She had never seen Total Recall before which I have finally rectified. It is now her favorite Arnold movie of all time.
• My account for commenting on Gawker network sites seems to be broken, which means I can never inadvertently involve myself in a dead-end discussion there, no matter how poor my judgment!

truly a blessing in disguise!
• On a whim I decided I wanted to learn how firefox extensions work. After an initial steep learning curve, I'm doing pretty well. I wrote a basic context menu tool to write html formatting tags (for people who can't write html). It was inspired by some of the initial gripes some people had with the FKftG switch to vanilla forums. Right now I'm shining it up and adding a feature or two. It feels good to program for something other than work.
• It wasn't too hard to switch over, it turned out I already pretty much knew the tags already. I still contend that is still faster than typing left carrot a href=""> but I guess that takes software that's hard to do.
• The official vanilla forums actually has a button palette that seems really good... but I can't figure out what it is/how to get it.
• ^^Hey mang, if you want to try out the extension when I finish it, you won't have to type any left "carrots", and it would have the bonus effect of working on pretty much every text box that supports html tags. :)
• I'll try it out but I suspect right clicking in a message box will be slower, wouldn't a keyboard shortcut be better?

Unless I'm mistaking how your extension works, only guessing by what you wrote previously.
• Right clicking isn't that bad.

But you are right that keyboard shortcuts. Thanks for the idea.
• Here's a screen cap of the extension in action.
Spoiler:

• Promo and title change!
• And, it's published...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/easy-markup/

It has yet to be fully reviewed, but I feel pretty confident that it won't bork your firefox install.
• Traveled back to my hometown area to see The Divide, Abigail Washburn, Haim, Apache Relay, Nathanial Rateliff, Dawes, Gogol Bordello, Mumford and Sons, and Reggie Watts. I am so drained but it was amazing, and probably the best thing to ever happen in this little part of Illinois.
• Finally watching the current season of True Blood. This is the best show ever.
• Jon...no. Come back. Please?
• Just put an SVN repository in my dropbox.
• True Blood continues to whip the ass of every other major TV show's pacing. Shit actually happens in True Blood, they don't just stand around saying WELL, MAYBE SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN NEXT EPISODE. Especially this season, where I'm like "wow, how did they fit all that information for all those characters into 50 minutes?" where Game of Thrones is like "yep, there's our government regulated 2-3 minutes of Arya seething in Tywin's castle for THIS episode."

Though I wish True Blood hadn't killed one or two of their minor characters this season, I would've liked to see more of them.
• True Blood is awesome because fuck yeah sexy man ass in every episode. EVERY. EPISODE.
• Seriously. Alcide? Hottest dude ever. It's the only show that has ever made me consider working out.
• Got rid of the ash tree in our front yard that was threatening to crush our house. I just drank a vodka tonic while leaning on its stump.
• I still stand by my assertion that the show's strength lies in being able to completely appeal to both sexes,
• I got a fistful of stickers(and pin! and shirt!) from Dave today. The exclamation point made me laugh. Thanks guys!
• The only part of True Blood I like is the title sequence and song. After that, I sit there drooling out the side of my mouth till the credits roll.
• You're doing it right, that's the way to watch it.
• went clothes shopping today. I'm like 90% of the way to fitting in a small shirt and I can now wear slim jeans! Also purple shirt!
• Seriously. Alcide? Hottest dude ever. It's the only show that has ever made me consider working out.

I'm more partial to Alexander Skarsgård myself...

Happy you liked it! I try to distinguish the packages for people I know in some way or other.

Also a fine choice.
• I haven't seen anything past season 2 of it. I think it is time to get caught up.
