Girlfriend and I were sitting on her couch this weekend, and we had "How It's Made" on in the background, and during a break she looked at the show (they were making stainless-steel sinks or something) and she said "you know, this is basically porno for nerds."

I got the promotion at work I've been trying to get, so now I am an Exchange Technical Account Manager, which is a complicated title, right? MUST LOOK GOOD ON A RESUME. But more importantly, more dollars.
Also, I have two dates this weekend. Hopefully one (or both) will go well. -

While it happened yesterday, the realities of the events of Saturday are still settling in on me. The hours diverted from building personal relationships and having a "life" and watching cartoons that went to studying foreign politics and culture finally paid off as I became the regional champion in Foreign Extemporaneous Speech.
Not only does this mean I am champion and that I get to go to state, but this also puts me on equal footing with the two debaters I idolize.
To think what I considered to be my worst speech of the day turned out to give me first place made me feel good inside.
I finally feel as though I won something, and deserved it. I just have to get ready for state now. -
That does sound awesome! It's cool to have someone say, in a tangible and objective way, that you know your shit.

My girlfriend's crazy drug-addict roommates agreed to move out of the house at the end of this month. And one of them's brother is my girlfriend's best friend's husband, and he agreed that on April 30th, he and I and one of his other friends will show up with a U-Haul truck and Druggies will be out of the house by three PM.

I think that there were personality issues, actually. I'm really into her, but she can be kind of a bitch. (Although, back on her side, the "bitch" issues were things like "don't watch movies with the volume turned all the way up at 3 AM", and "don't get up at 1:30 in the morning and use every pot in the house to make Rice-A-Roni and then store it in biohazard bags your boyfriend stole from work for two months until it's more mold than food") -

I beat that Valkyrie Profile mission. It was with a retarded strategy that barely worked, and probably should not have worked, but I did it. And I didn't have to perma-kill one of my guys.
Also, fucking awesome karaoke tonight, even if the place assured me that they had the same songs as their sister store. THEY DID NOT. No Bubblegum Crisis, but we did have some Red Fraction.
