I'd love for more people to join the forums. Our recent ad campaigns have been producing reasonable results, but it could always be better. Really I'm more concerned with having the egos of both myself and Skabs stroked. And we're not at the level that that can be accomplished with more hits.
Beware, though, I may be posting a thread about the marketability of robots in this Matrix-backlash era in which we live.
The discussion may prompt some new ideas for advertising, however.
May be going to a local concert tomorrow night, I might just print off some little card ads if I have the time (and the ink!) and start slipping them to people.
I've been spreading via word of mouth about both Front Beat and Fan-service. I plan on linking one of the Front Beat banners to my profile on RvsB, as lame as that sounds.
Ah, yes. I forgot how absolutely horribly I suck at photoshop. Or in my case, The Gimp, because I don't like buying software, and I don't like stealing it either, so I just use the free version of essentially the same thing.
If anyone's interested (and Dave approves, of course) I would be indebted if someone could create the following in a size and resolution appropriate for a business card or a 3 x 5.
The Front Beat Logo and the url, of course.
"Robots try to kill humanity, but without the religious references no one understands!"
Thought on that one as I showered, decided that really didn't flow right. Too wordy.
Here's the revision:
"Killer robots, without the cheesy religious savior."
Feel free to tweak that and buff it until it shines, Dave. It still doesn't quite right with me. I can't think of a way to say "cheap religious commentary" in fewer sylables.
I've been talking to people about Front Beat and I get some really positive feedbacks on it, so I'll be talking some more trying to catch more souls for the soul sucking robot contraption that is called FrontBeat.
Not going to the show tonight, dealing with emotional shit prompted by a girl (is there any other kind?) and am not best fit to be advertising as I might also be killing the people to whom I advert.
Also, I need ink in my printer.
But the design will be used soon!
Words of wisdom for the day: Estrogen and girls who don't know what they want are a dangerous combination banned in 46 countries. As well they should be.
My friends list is relatively clean of that kind of activity. I've pretty much given up on the site sense they closed down the only thread I really like. Now I just use it to burn up time. I've been contemplating deleting my account for some time now. Of course, now that I think about it, everyone that I think would really appreciate the comic I've already told...

As witnessed by the fact that all three people on your little jelly stain of an island post here. ^^
[quote="Dave"]I need to include magical unicorns or something to involve girl readers. Last time I heard the world was nearly half made up of them.
Wouldn't attract this chick. Our usual topics of conversation include ruling the world, our plots to kill each other, and how everyone else is stupid. Most of the media she imbibes is more violent than my dreams.
And believe you me, my dreams are of holocausts the world must never know.
On the subject of unicorns, I have to say that while I've been a little dissatisfied with the level of humor in Penny-Arcade over the last year or so, the phrase "It's like drinking unicorn giggles!" is one of the funniest damn comments in human history.
This off-topic addendum is brought to you by the fact that I am the almighty destroyer of cogent, serialized, sequitous conversation.
i like the idea of making all our slogans referencing 80s songs in some way. Like Fucking Heinraker and a the tag line "Rock you like a hurricane." or the Tate banner and the slogan "Dirty White Boy"
There IS an 80s song reference motif in the comic, but it's something you'd never be able to guess because it's only happened once so far, and it won't happen again for quite some time.
[quote="Nataraja"]"Robots try to kill humanity, but without the religious references no one understands!" I'm funny. I read that as "... but because there are no religious references no one understands why robots are trying to kill humanity". As if the concept of robots wanting to kill for the sake of killing was just too old school to come to grips with in this enlightened age. As if caverobots were roaming the streets, swinging their metal pipes and painting elaborate murals on the concrete walls, using nothing but the finest oils and human blood. Who are these robots!?

Ahahaha. Gillsing, you get "propers"!
Actually, that would make an entertaining, frivelous Front Beat spoof.
What I see alot is that when you vote for a webcomic you see a special picture that the owners put there, only to be seen if you vote. For example scetches, reference photos for example. Maybe this could raise the voting a bit for FrontBeat.
And you could have a character show up in topwebcomics' little 1-of-3 vote images. But maybe you already do, and I just forgot about it, or didn't come across it yet?
Actually, we do, but I don't know what's up with their randomizer. Maybe it's biased against us or maybe there's just 10,000 different comics out there with Sonic as a main character. There is a Cat button, but I've only seen it once or twice.
As for vote incentives, it's always an idea. The question is... what.
Sounds like a plan to me. Also Fast Karate/Front-Beat is being mentioned in our upcoming podcast, which is being released this week. Too bad we have no listeners
I'm new here but i found this really cool site in which you can buy stock in your favourite websites. Well i invested stock in Frontbeat and i expect you to do so too!
Pimped it to two people today and slapped it in my MSN tag. I just started reading from the top and it's impressive. Skabs has some fuckin' mad skills. You can write very good dialogue (dialog, for you yanks!) there, Dave.
