Started the visual novel Dengeki Stryker because I heard that Masaaki Endoh sang the opening song and apparently Shinichi Watanabe (I loved Excel Saga all those years ago) directed it. -
How do you direct a visual novel?
Anywho, been playing a lot of EVE Online lately, pretty good game.
Recently my poor little carebear alliance just got pushed out of our null system in Querious because the Goons et al, are about to blow up all over the southeast. Now we're breaking off a chunk of our people into a different corp to join Intrepid Crossing, which is probably bad news for the current alliance. Good news though, we'll be getting a new system around this weekend, and even though it's on the complete other side of the galaxy and in drone space, we'll have fewer taxes, lighter restrictions on where we can do shit, and better support from our landlords. IRC also speaks English, so that's a plus.
As a side note everyone here with a PS3 should get Dust 514 when it comes out so you can all work for my alliance gaining sov at slave wages. You'll get all the intrigue of Eve without the high stakes. -
Every year, like clockwork, I get the idea that it would be cool to try and go back and finally beat Killer7. I generally make it about 2.5-3 hours in.

Well there is a pretty elaborate opening, and there are also bits and piece of actual transformation animation here and there. I think mostly it comes down to the direction of the voice actors delivery. -
I finished Dengeki Stryker. Besides the two pointless sex scenes, the game was phenomenal. Great mix of classic visual novel and animated scenes. If you like quirky Japanese superhero stories then you will probably love this game. Even if you don't like them, check out the opening movie and I'm sure you will want to play it:
Little bit of a rant here but Overdrive really needs to just be a company that makes all ages games. They create these fantastic stories that get their pace broken by out of place ero scenes. They did it with KiraKira, They did it with the KiraKira Fandisc. They did it with Dengeki Strykers. And I'm only halfway through Deardrops (which is pretty damn awesome), but I'm sure they will do it there as well. -
Its out in the US, was translated by MangaGamer. I also wouldn't really call it a game since there are only 3 choices in the entire thing that don't really mean anything.
ALSO: Unlike KiraKira, it doesn't have moments of soulcrushing depression. -

When I'm not at work, which is most of the time, I'm playing through the Yakuza series, from 1 all the way to Dead Souls. Currently playing through 3 now.

I'm still waiting for Dead Souls to hit the $25 dollar mark then I'll buy it. Same with Meruru. I recently made a friend play through Yakuza 1 and 2 and he loved it. Soon he will experience 3 and 4.
I recently bought a Wii Motion Plus just to play Skyward Sword. Fantastic Zelda game so far although I'm only at the first dungeon. -
Regarding Far Cry 2, when I first started the game, everything was cool with me and the other mercenary types walking around. After I got my first non-training mission in Pala, I found a case of diamonds and grabbed that. Immediately, everyone around me started trying to kill me. Ever since then, everyone I run into (except for buddies) tries to shoot me or ram me with a vehicle (with that said, I've only played the game an hour or two). Is there just some story thing I'm not picking up on (e.g. - did I end up in the territory of the wrong faction and just don't know it)? Or is there some sort of GTA-like way of chilling out for a bit so that your pursuers forget about you?
I'm trying to be all sneaky and strategic, but it's a little tricky when every single npc hates me and can spot me while I'm hiding the bushes and I can't see them. Granted, it didn't really help that skullcandy doesn't label their earbuds left or right, and I didn't realize I had them in backwards until after quitting for the evening.
Any suggestions? -

So basically the No Country for Old Men scenario? I never got too far into Far Cry 2 for similar reasons. Completely psychic Elder Scrolls guards are sort of a turnoff in an open world game. I also had to stop because the game has almost no HUD, which results in my getting motion sick on a big screen TV. Might try again on a laptop, I guess. -
Hitman: Blood Money is a good game.

I've never been so on edge when playing an online game. There is a decent amount of stuff in the mod that needs fixing and polish (it's still in alpha though) but what is already there is astonishingly good. I've at least got the basics down so if anyone needs help lemme know. -

I was thinking about getting it for my girlfriend, she is really into the TV show and I thought that she might like it. Although I was worried that it was too complicated for her to care since her gaming needs are primarily filled by Angry Birds, Sudoku, and occasionally any 2d Mario game. EDIT: Also basically any Kinect game just to give you the level of complexity she is willing to put up with. -
No, do it. It's not complicated at all to the point that they're exporting it the IOS to bring the game on their. Plus the story is much, much better than the TV show.
My DayZ experiences have been interesting. I'm not a big fan of reading guides and stuff, so I've just been trying to learn as I go along. I met up with two people and one had a gun so I spent about 45 minutes with them exploring before we were ambushed by some bandits and subsequently murdered. -
Yeah, Walking Dead's gameplay is like... King's Quest light + quick time events. Super easy but strangely enjoyable. Saw the plot of the second episode coming from a mile away but still loved playing it.

My cousin got Minecraft so we are playing couch co-op. Not half bad.

Started playing Deus Ex: Invisible War. Its bad. But I can see how this eventually grew up to be the good deus ex.

FEAR the first does atmosphere better than any American horror game I've ever played (I guess Amnesia did a good job with that too); it's not crap your pants scary due to its overt scares being too derivative of J-horror tropes we see all the time, but it builds tension and puts you on edge better than most.

Still playing the Binding of Isaac. Went from 52 deaths and 5 wins to 52 deaths and 7 wins. Feeling good.

Rbx5: I noticed that, the tension building and the atmosphere are done really well, the game makes you feel like you are there experiencing same things as the main character. However, i think Amnesia does that even better, at least horror-wise, amnesia is one of those games that really gets to you, I started playing it but after like 45minutes I did not dare go any further :)

Me and my friend spent most of the day beating Catherine since I probably would have never gotten around to it. I have to say, Katherine is shitty and Catherine had an awesome ending. Also, Erika is the best character in the game. The revelation on who she is is quite amazing.

Its Awesome as the name suggests, it's sidescrolling LoL with more action.

Finally have a computer that can play deus ex so have been loving me some of that. Its pretty much as awesome as described.

Returning to Dragon's Dogma, I made it to the post-game last night. Killed a Beholder by the skin of my teeth with one pawn left alive. Stupid magical shield!

Imported Max Anarchy. It's as fun as expected, which was a lot. That Sega made me (and anyone else that wants it) go through the trouble of importing a game that has full English track and menus is probably the saddest part of the whole thing.

Playing Sound Shapes right now. It is a pretty neat game. It will probably be like Little Big Planet where you need to wait a few months for people to create cool levels.
