Podcast - 01/14/06 - Surprisingly Good-cast
  • In just a few minutes the new podcast will be up.

Do Joel and I have background music now?

    ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

    (we don't)

  • Are you sure we don't? Because I think if you listen closely to a few weeks ago you should be able to faintly hear nine inch nails.
  • On the subject of Nuncio and the origins of his name, a short story shall follow, fag.

Nuncio and I, along with some other folks (including AutoManipulator who signed up and then got distracted and hasn't returned since, dickhole), went to a concert. The band playing was Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (I've linked you to the music sampler section instead of the home page, it's just easier for those wishing to check the music out, I recommend 1997 and Sleep is Wrong from Grand Opening and Closing). If you can't figure it out, the bands not exactly the most popular music out there, but I enjoy it.

Anyway, after the show the band was hanging out in the crowd signing/selling merchandise and just generally chatting about the show. Nuncio was pretty broke so he didn't have any of their shirts to ask to be signed, so instead he got them to sign his jacket. Of course, none of them would just give their signature, and instead created drawing or the name Nuncio and the Grape, which the member who wrote said would be the name of Nuncio's band.

I was fearful of saying where the name came from, because it might ruin some of the mystery, but then I realized it still doesn't make any sense, so I think it still works.
  • That story brought a tear to my eye. Now I'm sad. Beautiful, man.
  • Also, Christine wasn't a short story, but relatively boring and a novel.
  • That night was awesome.
The violinist lady signed the back for like 15 minutes.
    Awesome night.
It's pretty sweet to hear that I'm liked. I quote podcasts all the time.
And on the topic of me being the only person posting seriously in Coheed and Cambria, it's because I'm a music junkie.
    "Super Emo band"
    Hahaha.
  • I heard the newest Coheed and Cambria CD was the best Rush album ever made. Getty Lee is AWESOME.

Being a Super Emo band is not as easy as you think. Not only does your girlfriend have to not give you back your denim jacket after you break up, but she has to eat it and then you have to kill her and EAT HER (within the period of one digestive cycle) in order to reassume the jacket into yourself.

Then you have to make a whiny-crying song about it.

Optionally you can yell during this song, but then you would be defined as a "Super Screamo" band.

I want to append "and the Grape" to my legal name.

Nuncio, I assert you to do this, since if I were to it'd just be disingenuous.
  • I lol'd to no end reading that Coheed thing.
    True genious.
