  • I love Canadia. The beer is top notch.
  • Welcome, welcome please take a seat and wait for the ride to begin. Oh wait, it has already begun too late to turn back now!
  • Welcome. Pledge your allegiance to Go Nagai now.
  • Let me be the first to welcome Alain Mendez, although he hasn't posted anything yet. 8)
  • Wow. Thank you greatly for welcoming me.

I am 29 and I live in New York. My favorite anime is Revolutionary Girl Utena. I will give most shows a watch but if I enjoy them is another thing all together.
  • Hi all.

I'm a New Zealander, but I just moved to Sweden for a 6 month university exchange.
Interesting fact: Swedish people talk so much Swedish that it's not even funny anymore.

I am no kind of expert in anime, and if I ever try to impress anyone on this forum by telling you how nothing good has been made since 1989 or by making snide remarks about Yu Gi Oh, you can come over here and nut me in the back of the head. Because I will deserve it.

I am here to continue my doomed quest to find anime's perfect form. The kind that doesn't make me feel ashamed, that has character development or rich plots or violence that is designed to exhilarate or disgust but not - and this is very important - but not sexually arouse. It's the kind of show I thought they'd all be like when I began.

    I was once so naïve.

Favourite 2D fighter: Still Street Fighter Alpha 3, and I still suck at it.
Favourite Giant Robot: The Big O. Biggest arms in the business, best theme tune in the world.
  • Favorite new word: Nut as in "nut someone in the back of the head." That aside, your love for Big O recommends you highly, Kensudden.
  • I posit that Gigantor actually has a better theme than Big O.
  • Ok, first of all no one was saying anything about better Goki. But since you have laid the gauntlet down, your position is incorrect. Big O is better because it is inextricably caught up in Queen's coat tails. Listen to the Big O theme again and realize that it is not disimilar to the Flash Gordon theme. While it never bursts into full on, guitar solo glory, it tantalizes you.

The Gigantor theme was good, too.
  • My position, incorrect though it may be, is that the Gigantor theme surpasses the Big O theme because the Gigantor theme is educational.

The Big O theme teaches us nothing about the Big O itself; the Gigantor theme, on the other hand, informs us that Gigantor is in fact "bigger than big" and "stronger than strong".

How can Queen-worship possibly withstand something that is "stronger than strong"? It's like the immovable object / unstoppable cannonball argument. The physical repercussions of it could shunt us into another dimension...

...a dimension of PURE ROCK! 8)
  • Goki, it is now our responsibility to do exactly as you have suggested. By creating a perfect synthesis of these two songs, we will propel our world in a new, thrashing and totally rad dimession.
  • Thanks for the welcome guys.

I start to think about a combination of that laid-back Gigantor classic with the driving beat of the Big O, and immediately I have to stop because my brain begins collapsing into the Void.

In a graphical representation, it looks kind of like this: :!:
  • I am awfully bad at introductions for being such an internet cool-dude. NONETHELESS I WILL TRY. Eh-hem. I like podcasts and internet websites! I also like comics because their archives are awesome on work days! But perhaps, most important of all:

    <----meat.

    The end.

Good stuff dude, thanks! buy levitra
  • I too like podcasts and internet websites.
    We shall be friends.
  • Aw. We iz all frends heee! Group INtar-hug!
  • Niku has posted on my blog in response to various awesome movies, and therefore he is welcome.

    Welcome, Niku!

EDIT: Or she. "Niku" is kind of a gender-neutral word, so it could go either way.
  • Proving that four years of Japanese was not UNworthwhile, I saw 'Niku' on the front page and though 'Hm, meat'

    Roffle!

    Welcome dood(ette??)
  • Logic dictates that since there are no girls on the internet, internet cool-dudes must have so many Y chromosomes that the rest of the vowels have to finally stand up and take notice. That'll teach those bastard O's to waffle on the swing vote.
  • I'm new here. And wondering if I should regret join this forums... Oo
  • It is customary for us to make new posters regret their first postings, for so it has always been.

PREPARE TO RECEIVE FIST OF DOOM!

I think I'll pass, I'd rather a black eye then no eye. ><

  • I just feel the need to mention that just because we are guys does not mean we can't have totally straight, heterosexual man-crushes on Dwayne Johnson and Geese Howard, respectively.
  • I am a girl, but I think my icon is funny. I really don't care for Sasuke, but I'm not a mad Sasuke hater. Yeah. lol

  • Wait, are you saying that Geese Howard was stupid. Truly, I will sain my hands with your butt. YOU ... cannot escaaape frum dess.
  • Geese Howard was mine friend.

  • So I'm supposed to introduce myself here, right?

I've been an anime / manga fan for ten years. I cosplay, live in Ohio, and I've been playing video games ever since the Vic 20 was out. I have all the portables and a Gamecube / PS2 and they see heavy use. I also collect action figures, visit and post on /b/ regularly, and read mythology / folklore. I have fond memories of Streets of Rage 2, Legend of Zelda, Hogan's Heroes, Masters of the Universe and Ninja Turtles.

Oh yeah, I'm also a girl.

    Good enough?
  • I have fond memories of Streets of Rage 2...

Oh yeah, I'm also a girl.
    I think I'm in love. <img class=" title="In Love" />

But seriously, I was born in Toledo, Ohio. What part of the Buck-eye State are you from?

Originally I'm from Montgomery County, PA, but I moved to Cleveland a few years ago. I live in Akron now.

Oh, and I'm kinda married. Sorry.
  • Oh, and I'm kinda married. Sorry.
That's cool. I'm just playing. Although it isn't every day that you meet a female that appreciates the pinnacle of electronic gaming that is Streets of Rage 2.

I played the frick out of it when I was a kid. I kinda do prefer River City Ransom though.
  • Hehe, your icon makes my laugh.

Welcome, nice to see another girl here.....woman.....what ever.
  • Streets of Rage is one of those games that when I hear the name...
    I GET PUMPED!
