What Are You Watching / Listening Right Now ?

  • This guy is the only reason to listen to the joe rogan podcast. "It's either bleu cheese with wings or go fuck your mother."
  • Blue Cheese and Ranch are both equally horrible in regards to being served with Buffalo Wings.
  • You are from Florida. Ergo, Buffalo wings are beyond the purview of your knowledge.
  • It largely depends on the type of wings. Me and a few friends will occasionally go to Quaker Stakes all you can eat wing nights, and I like some bleu cheese with their Cajun wings.
  • If you want to have those dressings on your chicken, the go out and Blue Ranch wings or whatever. It's redundant to take a sauce and dip it into another sauce. Buffalo sauce is enough.

Also, I can the Winghouse chain of restaurants in Florida makes the best damn Buffalo Wings in this entire country.
  • God's right, one sauce is enough, perverts.
  • I'm too much man for just one sauce.

This automatically makes your statement false.
  • Ranch dressing on pretty much anything is awful.
  • ^ Lies and slander.
  • No. Ranch is pretty terrible.

I dream of a world where Caesar dressing replaces Ranch dressing as the go to dressing for salad and other things.

  • it is slayer day, so you know what that means
  • I just listened to the "new" Celldweller album "Wish Upon a Black Star". Its was almost like having a religious experience, thats how good it is.
  • Was your perfect world upset?

Thats the best its gonna get. I think the only weak track on the album is "So Long Sentiment", all others are great to superb. I think "Unshakeble" is my favorite new song that I haven't heard before. The new rendition of "Brithright" is quite fantastic as well. So many good songs.

I think its time for Blue Stahli to put out another real album. THE TIME IS NOW.
  • Jem and the Holograms got added onto Netflix, I've always wanted to watch this series after seeing the intro on 80s/90s cartoon intro videos. Transformers and GI Joes also got added, both being shows that aired before I was able to watch them.

It's a bit of a weird cartoon for kids. It seems to impart the lesson that you can steal things, break into private property, and try to kill people numerous times without any penalty of the law.
  • Didn't Blue Stahli put out another album around December? Though it might have been just another instrumental one... Eh, either way yea, another album sounds good.
  • Oh yeah, I saw Prometheus opening night, it's fantastic and people should watch it.

    Also, there's this:

  • Are there actually Xenomorphs or not? That's all I want to know.
  • @Creaty: ...yes and no. Suffice it to say, people were applauding at the end. The truth is, while it is generally a prequel to Alien, and does set up basically everything for how we see it in that movie, there's kind of two big details that outright contradict what we see in the first movie, so just how much of a prequel it really is is up for debate. I don't recall how to format spoilers, so I won't say any more than that.
  • [ spoiler] TEXT [ /spoiler]
  • ^^ Great, so I'm pretty much in the same boat.
  • ^It's definitely worth seeing. Ridley Scott's still got it, and there were a few moments in there where I got that breathless feeling you get when you know you're seeing something really special. That scene they show briefly in the ads and trailers with Michael Fassbender in that holographic map room is just absolutely beautiful in every sense of the phrase; that one scene instilled the kind wonder in me I thought I wouldn't ever really experience in a movie again. That's another thing that sets Prometheus apart from Alien, too: where Alien was sweaty, claustrophobic, and bleakly industrial, Prometheus is gorgeous, expansive, and contemplative in a very Blade Runner-esque way.
  • I stumbled across this link on Wikipedia. I love Romani music.

  • ^ Yep. I love including classical or unorthodox instruments in modern music, which is probably why I have a bunch of string quartet tribute CD's still.

Agreed.I have never seen a bass guitar like the one from the Katzenjammer video before.

Edit: Apparently it is a Russian instrument called a contrabass balalaika.
  • Also listening to some of Tod A.'s Pre-Firewater band, Cop Shoot Cop.

    Photobucket

    Coincidence? I think not.
  • I have belief that things in certain media are worth experiencing because of their cultural value, so I make blood pacts with my brother to get him to experience them. Somehow, in the midst of that, we watched Samurai X and decided to watch Kenshin as well, I guess because it'd been long enough since either of us had seen it. It is significantly worse than I remember it ever being.
  • Romani invasion part 2! This time with Klezmer!

This song makes me want to dance so bad!

  • Catchiest song ever written on the subject of the disposal of a corpse?
  • Home Movies is my favorite thing that has ever aired on Adult Swim. Coach McGuirk makes the show.

    I love this song.
  • I saw Prometheus. I thought it was OK, but I'm not too sure why because my complaints about the film should make me think of it less than I already do.
  • My Saturday in a nutshell.
  • Just watched Haywire last night. The story wasn't super great, but the fight scenes were pretty crazy.
  • Finally watched Moneyball. It was very good.
  • Also called Tableflip: The Movie

Visually beautiful but mentioning both Alien and Blade Runner cemented why Prometheus bugs me. Alien was a horror movie, the scifi was aesthetics. Blade Runner was a noirish detective story, the scifi was flavor. Prometheus leans far too heavily on it scifi, you take any of it away and it doesn't work anymore. That's not the case with either of the other two. The Alien nods felt like "oh yeah" moments to me, with the last explicit one being so tacked on that my eyes rolled. I would have been happy with just being that universe, that tech and feel, and leaving oddly shoe horned details left out.
