Ok , Ok I know this isn't anime . I'm currently still on Water volume , and I have to fully admit that I'm hooked.

The worlds are so beautiful and mysterious , and the characters are truly intriguing . Is anyone else watching this show ?

I have a confession to make. Before listening to Dave and Joel, before listening to AWO, before I turned my life around, I was an active user of the Megatokyo forums. I was trying to watch Clannad as per the recommendations of my fellow forumites. I was watching that moe garbage because they claimed it was a good character drama. I watched FLCL because they said it was "crazy". I then stumbled across AWO, which awoke me from my stupor and showed me that these shows were crap. My eyes were opened. Then I found Dave and Joel. They helped me find one of my favorite games. They bring me hours of free entertainment. And they keep me away from Megatokyo. Thanks guys.

I'm getting really close to catching up to the new podcasts and I'm listening to a special in which Dave and Graz are on the trivia show. There's the super weird anime top 200 list and Rurouni Kenshin was number 1. That shit is my favorite, I love it.

It seems all but confirmed that it's gonna be licensed by funi. Is anyone excited by this? I mean, it's not a remaster this time, it's pretty much a reboot really...would that change your opinion on the franchise? Are you gonna give these movies the time of day?

So I was listening to Daryl and Gerald gush about this show on the latest episode of AWO and decided to check it out. It's like a guy from Japan saw Adult Swim and was like, "What if I make a show like one of these, but less funny." The funniest part of the show is how bad the animation is, and other than that, the jokes just fall flat, and the "dubbing pool" is just plain
lazy. Don't make your voice actresses try to be funny, that's the writer's job. So that's my rant for today. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I just got this animated feature from Funimation on an impulse buy. It was only about $15 for the Blu-ray combo pack at Walmart, so I figured it wasn't too much of a gamble at that price. I remembered the movie getting a glowing review from the Anime News Network, too, but I wasn't prepared for how much I genuinely liked it.

Oblivion Island tells the story of a young high school girl who lost her mother at an early age. She remembers fairy tales that her mother used to tell about fox spirits who stole human items that were mislaid or neglected. One day she sees one of these creatures trying to swipe a toy airplane that some children left behind, and she gives chase into a magical kingdom that just shines with beautiful CG visuals and characters. It's equal parts Alive in Wonderland and The Book of Lost Things, with powerful themes and incredible action scenes.

I know the plot might make it seem like a Studio Ghibli film, but this movie had a very different feel to it. It actually felt more like a vintage Don Bluth movie than anything else. Which is kind of appropriate, because like Don Bluth films, it really offered me something fresh and emotional as an alternative to the well-worn style of Miyazaki, Japan's Walt Disney in terms of animation dominance.

It's a new release, so it might not be on Netflix for awhile; but since you can get both the Blu-Ray and the DVD for the price of a single movie, I say there's no sense in waiting.

So, it's FINALLY getting a re-release, this time with a pretty box and lots of extras and booklet thingies (and lawdy am I sucker for little DVD booklet thingies). I was able to get ahold of the first 10 or so episodes previously, but I've been itching to see the rest for a while now. Anyone else looking forward to it?

God i love robot shows. And whats better than Giant robots and Unicorns?

So i got the Blu ray disk from j-list. And i am amazed at the amount of detail that went into the OVA(oav?).

Not dubbed yet, but i'm sure you could find a torrent or something for it somewhere.

Anyone else seen the show? Any comments on the utterly huge gap between episodes? 6 months between each episode and a total of 8 episodes. So thats 4 years?
